This Honey Sesame Chicken recipe is sticky and crispy, with a sesame seed-crusted crunch and honey garlic sauce. Watch the recipe video HERE.

Most of the time, we'll top this Honey Sesame Chicken with some sliced green onions, but fresh spicy peppers like serranos are a delicious twist if you like a little heat—totally optional.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED (scroll to full ingredient list)
DIRECTIONS
STEP 1: PREP
Preheat the air fryer or oven to 400°F.
Combine the flour and salt and add to a small plate.
Add the sesame seeds to a second small plate.
Lastly, add the whisked eggs to a small bowl.
STEP 2: COAT
Add the chicken (one piece at a time) to the flour plate and fully coat all sides.
Dust off the excess flour and then dip it in the whisked egg bowl.
Lastly, lay the chicken on the sesame seed plate and fully cover the top with sesame seeds.
Firmly press the chicken into the sesame seeds and lightly shake off the excess.
STEP 3: COOK
Cook at 400°F for 12-15 minutes in an air fryer or 25-30 minutes in the oven.
Give the chicken a flip halfway through, but be careful not to break the sesame crust
STEP 4: HONEY SESAME SAUCE
Add the olive oil to a preheated skillet over medium heat.
Add the garlic and cook until fragrant, then lower the heat.
Add the sesame oil, honey, butter, rice vinegar, onion powder, black pepper, and salt.
Mix well and then bring to a low simmer until the sauce thickens.
STEP 5: COAT
Carefully add the cooked chicken to the pan and fully coat it with the sauce.
Optionally, top with green onions or sliced serrano peppers.
